Quality of Life (and our little friends)

Residents of Redlands often place "Quality of Life" high on their list of why they enjoy living here. We have a lot to be proud of in this beautiful city. There is something that isn't so lovable about Redlands and if you live in District 1 you may know what I'm talking about. We have a bit of a cockroach problem. Or like my young nieces like to ask me, "have you seen any little friends lately?" After having a conversation about this problem with a neighbor, I decided to look into city-wide solutions. A lot of people might say, hey just call an exterminator. However, this is actually a problem that has scale and really is a city issue or at least should be thought of as such. Indeed, back in 2016, Redlands sought action using a Golden Bell Products Inc. insecticide. It was applied to 4300 sewer manholes and we were given a two year warranty. I'm curious about how effective this treatment was. I would love to hear your feedback on whether or not you noticed a decrease in roach presence between 2016 and 2018. If the results seem promising, I would continue to rally behind this program if elected to office.
